The Alliance of Women in Energy (AWE) offers energy industry professionals and high school students with interest in natural resource fields, opportunities for growth through mentoring, business networking and industry education.

Members attend monthly AWE meetings and events where they build business relationships and gain knowledge about their field. Luncheon speakers and educational seminars provide AWE members with updates on key energy issues, including legislation and new innovations. Evening events include designated "mingling" time for members to share knowledge and insight about the industry.
AWE Information Card
The AWE Mentoring Initiative promotes innovation-centered education and increases female students' achievement in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) courses through a year-long mentoring program in high schools in Bakersfield. Girls obtain one-on-one mentoring with professional women in a cross-section of energy-related businesses and they become aware of real-life career opportunities in the energy sector.
Currently, the AWE Mentoring Initiative is working with the Independence High School Energy and Utilities Academy.
